The New Breitling Limited-Edition Superocean Heritage Ocean Conservancy

Breitling introduced its Limited-Edition Superocean Heritage Ocean Conservancy watch in Bali on 10th May 2019. With the encouragement of its Surfers Squad members, the brand started a trend launching this new conservation-oriented chronograph. The Swiss manufacturer that is popular for its aviation-inspired timepieces launched its limited-edition model for commemorating its significant partnership with the Ocean Conservancy.

The Ocean Conservancy

The launch of the Breitling Superocean Heritage Ocean Conservancy Limited Edition watch was held in Bali in collaboration with Ocean Conservancy. It is the nonprofit environmental advocacy group that aids in devising ocean policy at the state government and federal levels to prevent threats to ocean ecosystems and wildlife. Thus, the launch was also part of a beach cleanup initiative that involved a hundred guests of Breitling and volunteers from Bali along with the surrounding regions. As a result of this initiative, hundreds of kilograms of plastic and trash were evacuated from the beach.

However, noteworthy members of Breitling’s Surfers Squad like Kelly Slater (the winner of eleven world’s surfing championships and also, the prime member of the Squad), Sally Fitzgibbons, Australians and Stephanie Gilmore were present to support the cleanup and to commemorate the squads’ collective spirit. Besides the Surfers Squad; there were the Explorer Squad, Cinema Squad and the Jet Squad.

Breitling Ocean Conservancy Limited Edition – Unique Features

The 44mm Superocean Heritage Ocean Conservancy watch is limited to only 1,000 pieces. However, one of the most distinctive features is that the watch comes with the logo of Ocean Conservancy engraved on its case back and its limited edition number. However, other unique features include a pair of NATO straps build of ECONYL yarn that is an off-set material reused from nylon waste.

A Breitling self-winding Caliber 13 movement powers the chronograph, rendering 48hours power reserve. However, the watch features the standard Superocean shock and scratch resistant unidirectional rotating bezel, a bright central dot at 12 o’clock position and Super-LumiNova coated hour and minute hands, making it useful for divers particularly. Moreover, the watch also flaunts blue accents second hand along with tone-on-tone sub-dials with nickel-plated or blue accents.
